hi everyone,
Can anyone say whether the 'new' flags decreed to be used from 1806 were immediate replacements (the single chequerboard design) OR did the older heraldic arms encrusted designs live on for a few years? I have 3-4 to add to a brigade and will use the new version if appropriate unless advised otherwise.
Neither Nafziger (1981 book) nor OttovP (Osprey) are concise on this point.
As my 'armies' end in 1807 later use/ speculation is of no importance to me,
