Axel,
All the books have an element of 'construction' of effects, but it is very brief except in the 'Garde' volumes where the information is more extensive.
The rest of the range (of books) is highly focussed on numerical data and archive/ regimental records, at the expense of the technical aspects of uniforms and equipment.
Certainly they do not answer the kind of detailled queries made here... but relevant and appropriate where appropriate.
