Möglicherweise verwechselt er etwas ? Die französischen Munitionswagen hatten doch spitze Dächer ?
About half a mile further in the plain was an open battery of artillery and a camp, forming the most picturesque assemblage of figures I ever beheld. The Russian cannon and carriages have inscriptions on them in Russian characters, and their colour, as well as that of the tumbrils, is bright green. The lids of the latter form angles of about 45 degrees with the sides. There were several cannon and tumbrils which had been taken from the French, with "Liberté, Egalite," on them: the gun-carriages and tumbrils of the French are lead colour; their roofs are flat segments of circles.
