    Adjutanten des Fürsten Poniatowski

    Ich suche nach den Adjutanten des Fürsten Poniatowski zwischen 1809 und 1813. Die Adjutanten, die ich aus den französischen Situations des Troupes für die Jahre 1812 und 1813 entnehmen konnte, lauten:

    Antoine Potocki, CdE
    Kamieniecki, Cap
    Kicki, Cap
    Alfred Potocki, Cap
    Skorzcewski, Cap
    Szydtowski, Cap

    So zumindest die Schreibweise der Franzosen in den Situations des Troupes. Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass sie falsch ist...die Franzosen hatten, was die Buchstabierung der polnischen Namen angeht, so ihre Eigenheiten, um es milde auszudrücken!

    Ich bin an den originalen Namen, ihren biografischen Daten und Dienstlaufbahnen interessiert. Ist polnische Literatur oder eine Website bekannt, die diese Daten bereithält?

    contains a list of staff officers (pages 31 to 33 inclusive - not in alphabetical order) - from a quick glance Alfred Potocki, Ludwik Kicki, Teod. Szydlowski and Heliodor Skorzewski are listed under Captains (Kapitanowie). Jan Kamieniecki is listed under Lieutenant Colonels (Podpulkownicy). Antoine Potocki is listed under Lieutenant Colonels of the main staff (podpulkownicy szatabu głownego).

          The 1905 version has a different layout for adjutants etc (see pages 39 to 41) - I haven't tried to cross reference both copies to ensure consistency of information etc)

            Ich habe mittlerweile versucht, etwas mehr über das Leben der Adjutanten herauszufinden. Das ist bei den Polen allerdings äußerst beschwerlich. Bei den meisten polnischen Offizieren, die mit dem Orden der Ehrenlegion ausgezeichnet wurden, liegt keine Akte in der Base Léonore vor. Damit wird es schwierig, ihren militärischen Lebensweg nachzuverfolgen, weil deshalb eben auch in den meisten Fällen der État de Service nicht genau nachvollziehbar ist.

            Die Informationen, die im Netz auffindbar sind, bleiben oftmals bruchstückhaft, oberflächlich und widersprüchlich.

            In den meisten Fällen ist zwar vermerkt, dass die Offiziere den polnischen Orden Virtuti Militari verliehen bekommen haben, aber es wird kein Verleihungszeitpunkt angegeben.

            Kennt zufällig jemand dieses Werk und weiß, ob dort biografische Daten mit Verleihungszeitpunkt enthalten sind?

            The Polish Order of the Virtuti Militari (Military Virtue)is the oldest decoration for personal valor in the world which is still in use today. It is equal in stature to the British Victoria Cross and the American Medal of Honor. It was established as an award for the victory at Zielenice in June of 1792 for the defense of Poland by King Stanislaw August Poniatowski. Its purpose was to honor those Polish soldiers who distinguished themselves defending the Constitution of Poland of the 3rd of May 1792 against Czarist Russia, Austria and Prussia. The book contains the history of the Order and over 26,400 names,color photographs of every cross up to the end of WWII. It lists the names of each recipient, cross number, rank,unit of assignment at the time of the award and the date of the award. It is the only work of its kind in the world on the subject. This is the soft cover 1st edition edition and bilingual English and Polish.
